What is ActiveX?

First, let’s quickly discuss what ActiveX is. The ActiveX component is a plug-in that allows a user to use all the NetDocuments features in Internet Explorer. This includes the ability to check-out documents, check-in documents, leverage the automated login function, and many other things. If you do not use Internet Explorer in your environment, this does not apply to you.

What happens if you don’t update?

Without this urgent update, anyone using Internet Explorer to access NetDocuments will begin receiving upgrade prompts on December 5, 2019.  Then on December 10, 2019, anyone using Internet Explorer to access NetDocuments will not be able to use the service. It is essential that every NetDocuments customer upgrades to the newest version of ActiveX (4.6.0.8) before December 5 to avoid any user frustration.
