If your firm utilizes HP Autonomy iManage as its Document Management System, there is a looming issue on your short-term horizon. The current Office 2003/2007/2010 integration macros for iManage WorkSite (iManO2k.dot and iManO2k.xla) have signatures that will expire on 1/27/14. After this date, security warnings may appear, and functionality may be limited.

Below is the FAQ on the issue provided by Autonomy, which includes instructions on downloading and deploying updated macros. Please note that there will likely be even newer files released again in May or June that will need to be deployed.

FAQ’s on the Expiring WorkSite iManO2k Macros

Solution

– Which versions of the client will be effected by this issue?

Any version of FileSite or DeskSite before 9.0 Update 4 and 8.5 SP3 P6 will have macros expiring on 1/27/2014.

– Where can I find the iManO2k files with a current digital signature?

The updated macro files are located on Worksitesupport.interwoven.com – Download Software – 8.5/9.0 tab.

– This release of macro files have a digital signature which expires on 6/6/2014, why doesn’t this cover a larger time frame?

This release of macros are signed with the issuer of Autonomy Systems Ltd, before their expiration we will be releasing newer files with an updated Hewlett-Packard signature. This release will provide a more extended time period before expiration.

– How can we implement the macro files into our environments?

Replace the existing iManO2k.dot and iManO2k.xla files which will be in one of two locations in your environment, depending on client version. Either in the WorkSite Installation directory in the “Macros” folder, or in the local Office STARTUP and XLSTART folder.

Example:
C:Program Files (x86)InterwovenWorkSiteMacrosiManO2k.xla
C:Program Files (x86)InterwovenWorkSiteMacrosiManO2k.dot

OR:
C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice14STARTUPiManO2k.dot
C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice14XLSTARTiManO2k.xla

– What will occur if the expired macros are left in place after expiration?

Depending on your macro security settings and version of Office, you may see a message bar indicating that a macro has been disabled with the ability to enable the content, or a prompt will pop-up notifying the user that the signature has expired and the user will have the option to enable or disable the content for the current session.

– What is the functionality of the iManO2k macros?

These files capture the CTRL+S and CTRL+O keyboard shortcut and display the WorkSite File Save/Open dialog.
