While systems like Exchange and document management systems have Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) options that include several layers of management responsibilities for the law firm\, the remaining servers had no clear path. Even after security and compliance issues have been overcome\, Infrastructure teams need to port virtual machines into Azure and remediate any issues that appeared during the process. Cloud deployments took months and that was on top of learning a new platform. \nNow Microsoft and VMware have eliminated the time and education commitments needed to move to the cloud. Move all your servers in days instead of months or years. With Azure VMware Solution (AVS)\, law firms simply connect to the Azure fabric and vMotion their systems to VMware host instances\, selecting the option that best fits your needs. \nKeep using the VMware tools you already know to manage workloads on Azure without disrupting network\, security\, or data protection policies. Run native VMware environments at any scale with unified management of Azure and VMware resources\, Azure networking services\, and security tools. Join us along with Microsoft and VMware as we discuss the details of this new offering.\n  \nKraft Kennedy presenters: \n\n\n\n \nChris Owens\nChief Technology Officer | 17 years with Kraft Kennedy\nCitrix CCA | VMware VCP | Interwoven CSA | OpenText CHP \nChris is the Chief Technology Officer at Kraft Kennedy. SUMMARY:Webinar: A Pandemic Law Practice: Collaboration\, Culture & Security
DESCRIPTION:When preparing for COVID-19 and the potential evacuation of traditional office space\, clearly the ability for lawyers and staff to access data is the first and foremost obstacle to tackle. We know we want to leverage technologies we have already developed\, perhaps with incremental retooling\, to make access to the systems as simple as possible for the entire firm. \nBut access is only half the equation of what makes your firm special. Efforts to ensure productive collaboration and maintain firm culture are also key focal points to consider during these events. Likewise\, as you start to introduce new ways that allow that collaboration and culture to persist\, as the physical boundaries of the law firm office space begin to disappear\, you also need to address the security concerns that are inherent with that new scenario. Join Kraft Kennedy for a Q&A session. \n \nREGISTER NOW\n\nKraft Kennedy speakers \n\n\n\n \nMichael Kraft\nGeneral Counsel\nMichael Kraft is the general counsel of Kraft Kennedy. He founded the company with Peter Kennedy in 1988 and continues to provide guidance for the firm today\, contributing his unique insight into the technology challenges that face businesses.\n\n\n\n\n \nChris Owens\nChief Technology Officer | 20 years with Kraft Kennedy\nCitrix CCA | VMware VCP | Interwoven CSA | OpenText CHP \nChris is the Chief Technology Officer at Kraft Kennedy. SUMMARY:ALA 2020 Annual Conference & Expo
DESCRIPTION:2020 Annual Conference & Expo Postponed\nNew dates to be announced soon\nUnder the circumstances\, the ALA Board of Directors has made the decision that it is no longer viable to move forward with ALA’s 2020 Annual Conference & Expo as originally scheduled. In our hearts we had hoped to find a path through these uncharted times to a safe and successful event\, but postponement of the event is unavoidable at this time. In the meantime\, we’ll continue to recalibrate and analyze various models related to our contracts\, terms and conditions in order to come to a timely and informed decision that allows for a level of confidence in protecting the long-term financial health of the Association.\nWith this decision to postpone\, I know that you may have questions about next steps and how this impacts you and your organization. Our immediate focus is to reach a decision on finding a date for postponement in 2020\, and we are considering several possible 2020 dates. If we are unable to find a 2020 date\, we may need to postpone until 2021. We remain committed to having that decision made no later than the week of March 30\, if possible.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Work-from-Home Security Threats: Protect Your Firm on the Inside and Outside
DESCRIPTION:Capensys\, MediaPro\, Kraft Kennedy and Remediant will provide an in-depth look at security in light of the recent changes in our work environment\, including case studies of recent attacks. SUMMARY:WIPL 2020: Reduce Risk in Remote Legal Operations
DESCRIPTION:The future came faster than anyone expected. In a matter of weeks – if not days- entire work forces went mobile. As we rushed forward\, priorities changed. We will review the prioritize security imperatives that can reduce risk in the remote workplace. \nRegistration for this year’s virtual WIPL is now open. In this session we will break down the key risks exposed by remote work and how cloud-based\, automated contract management can help legal teams: Reduce contractual and compliance risk with automated notifications\, configurable approval workflows\, and full audit trails Eliminate confusion and needless communication in contract lifecycle management when colleagues are working remotely Offer specific examples on how CLM can boost transparency\, efficiency\, and revenue in organizations Tighten security with all data secured in a single\, cloud-based solution.

SUMMARY:ILTA Mid-Law CIO Summit Panel: New Tech for Old Tasks
DESCRIPTION:When we all transitioned from working at home to working from home in March of 2020\, that felt hard. In some ways\, though\, that was the easy stuff. \nNow are coping with a short-term situation that has become long term. Certain operational functions – e.g.\, mail room\, onboarding\, equipment deployment and recovery\, client pitches\, depositions – that were well established had to be turned on their heads. We quickly identified new tools and techniques for accomplishing these tasks. \nNow that the genie is out of the bottle\, will we ever go back to 2019 tools and techniques? Do we want to? What does this mean for tools and technology? And the skill sets CIOs and IT teams need to develop and enhance? How do we help lawyers embrace these new tools? \nModerator:\nTony McKenna\nDirector of Information Technology\, Howard Kennedy \nPanelists:\nMatthew Basile\nPartner\, Kelley Drye & Warren \nMichael Gordon\nPartner\, Taft Stettinius & Hollister \nPat Mansuy\nChief Information Officer\, Cole Schotz \nAndrew Powell\nChief Information Officer\, Macfarlanes \nJamie Rhodes\nSolicitor\, Howard Kennedy \nAmy Sellars\nAGC and Director of the Discovery Center of Excellence\, Cardinal Health
