Relief for Document Collaboration Headache
Keeping track of documents during multiple
edits by different attorneys and multiple parties can be a major
headache. While redlining software can easily compare two
documents, tracking changes by many contributing authors
requires significant effort to sort out each proposed change,
track who proposed the change, and finally cutting, pasting or
re-keying each proposed change into the master document. Synergy
2.1 from Workshare Technology may finally provide an answer.

Nimda Worm Represents
New Threat
The Nimda worm represents a new
threat to computer security. Combining worm, virus and Trojan
characteristics it can spread without any action by users such
as opening an e-mail attachment. All indications are the recent
Nimda worm caused significantly more damage than any previous
worm or virus. Underscoring the need to constantly maintain your
networks against these security threats and monitor incoming
email and attachments, the FBI and the SANS Institute released a
list of the top 20 vulnerabilities in computer systems to help
network administrators determine the most urgent problems which
require fixing.

Month's Answer
To
terminate a 'hung' application in Windows NT or Professional, you need
access to the Task Manager. If your firm permits access to the Task
Manager, you should be able to invoke it by pressing CNTRL-ALT-DEL,
and choosing the Task Manager button. Once started, a list of
applications will appear on the Task Manager's Applications tab. Simply highlight
the hung application, and click End Task. The application should
close, however, if the application still will not
terminate, you will need to reboot your computer.
