Michael Mills Joins Kraft & Kennedy, Inc.

New York, NY (January 11, 2010). We are pleased to announce that Michael Mills has joined Kraft & Kennedy, Inc.

Michael is a nationally recognized innovator in legal information systems, knowledge management and litigation technology. He served for 20 years as the chief knowledge officer and co-head of technology at the international law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. At Davis Polk, he directed the firm's work in information architecture, enterprise search, portal and intranet services, client collaboration, automated document drafting, expert systems, electronic discovery, client relationship management and other technologies focused on improving the quality, consistency and efficiency of professional practice and service to clients. Michael also managed the firm's business development, legal assistants, library, lawyer training and recruiting departments.

Michael received a B.A. from Reed College, where he first learned to program on an IBM minicomputer in machine language and Fortran. He attended the University of Chicago Law School, then clerked in the United States District Court in Oregon. After practicing with Davis Polk for several years, he became a partner in the firm of Mayer Brown, specializing in bankruptcy, and was founding chairman of the firm's Technology Committee and operations partner for the New York office.

He is admitted to practice in New York and Oregon, and is a member of Association for Computing Machinery and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He serves as vice chairman of Pro Bono Net, a national non-profit provider of technology and services to the public interest legal community.

Michael joins Kraft Kennedy's Management Consulting Practice, which includes Donald Sternfeld, Patricia Mansuy and Chris Trauzzi, all of whom were CIOs at major law firms, John Tsiofas, who was both a CIO and Executive Director at one of the leading firms in Canada, and Jude Travers-Frazier, also an attorney and former CIO.

The Kraft Kennedy Management Consulting practice offers a broad range of services from strategic technology planning, technology reviews, application assessments, project management, and advisory services. It focuses on assisting Kraft Kennedy clients with developing information technology solutions and operational best practices that maximize the value of technology for attorneys.
